From the Desk of William Mawer, Editor-in-Chief . . .
Welcome to the Southern Law Journal, an official publication of the Southern Academy of Legal Studies in Business!
First, my sincere thanks to Marcia Staff from University of North Texas who, for the past three years has done a magnificent job as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal. Second, my sincere appreciation to Dan Davidson and his team of referees who make the Journal possible. Dan has been providing reviewing for the journal since it began as an idea more than ten years ago.
The Journal is now totally electronic and follows The Blue Book: A Uniform System of Citation. While both the authors and I have expended a great deal of time, care and effort to ensure the accuracy of the footnotes and have endeavored to follow The Blue Book, readers, however, will note a few deviations. For example, I chose to reference the United States Code Annotated (published by West) instead of the official United States Code since most of our readers are likely to use the annotated version. Also, the 17th edition of the Blue Book was published while I was editing the 10th volume of the Journal. To the extent possible, the manuscripts follow the 17th edition, particularly the new rules related to internet citations but we may have missed a few of the more obscure changes.
My sincere thanks to the authors, officers of the SALSB and, finally, readers of this volume. All comments and suggestions are most welcome.
